Description

Overview

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is currently being trialled in other states.

Presenters from these trial sites will impart learned wisdom and share insight into their experience of using the NDIS.

This one day forum showcases stories by and about people with disabilities and their families who have been involved in the NDIS trial sites the Perth Hills (WA), Barwon Heads (VIC) and Newcastle (NSW).

The NDIS provides people with disability with a new opportunity to think about how a good life is possible.

Having had experience using the NDIS, presenters will talk about:

  • Preparation
  • Creating a vision and planning for a good life
  • Self-directing and self-managing
  • Staying well connected in the community
  • Day-to-day experience of the NDIS

A lunch will be provided.
